January is full of new beginnings including the new seasons of my favorite TV shows! Whether you’re binge watching on a ladies night or cuddled on the couch with your boo, these shows are guaranteed to have you glued to your television screen!
Scandal- If you’re not watching Scandal yet, now is the time! Olivia Pope and her team of ‘Gladiators in suits’ will do just about anything for their clients…and I mean ANYTHING. I started watching at the end of season 1 and I’ve been addicted ever since. You can catch up by tuning watching the past seasons of the political drama on Netflix. The series returns to ABC on Thurs. Jan 19, 2017 @ 9PM ET
How to Get Away with Murder– Annalise Keating is a hotshot defense attorney and law professor who takes five of her most promising students as interns. However, things get a bit hectic when Annalise and her students become involved in a murder after another murder after another. This show is filled with drama, seduction and suspense, and gives me life! The series returns to ABC on Thurs. Jan 19, 2017 at 10PM ET
Being Mary Jane– Mara Brock Akil, the writer of Girlfriends has created Mary Jane Paul, a sexy, smart and successful news anchor, who just can’t seem to get her personal life in order. The show follows Mary Jane as she furthers her career and strives to start a family of her own. The first episode of this season aired on BET Tuesday, Jan. 10th, 2017 @ 9PM ET
Blackish- Black-ish has been considered a modern day Cosby Show. The sitcom features Andre “Dre” Johnson an advertising executive and his wife Dr. Rainbow “Bow” Johnson as they raise their four children in an upper-middle class neighborhood. Growing up in a rough neighborhood, Dre often finds himself trying to keep his suburban children “down to earth.” The show tackles a variety of topics from racism to LGBTQ rights. ABC Wed @ 9PM ET
Quantico – Alex Parrish is a young and promising FBI agent, but after she is accused and becomes the prime suspect of a terrorist attack, Alex must use the skills she learned in the academy to clear her name. I binged watched all 22 episodes of the first season on Netlifx in a few days. Quantified returns to ABC on Monday, Jan 23rd, 2017 @ 10PM ET
The Walking Dead – This thriller takes place in the south and follows the life of sheriff’s deputy Rick Grimes as he and his family struggle to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. At the shows inception I wasn’t a fan of zombies and would only watch snippets of the show when my husband was tuned in. But something changed in me around season 4 and I’ve watched every episode since. The Walking Dead will return to AMC on Thursday, Feb. 12th, 2017
The Haves and the Have Nots – The Haves and the Have Nots is a drama that explores the lives of three families. The rich and affluent Cryer and Harrington family (The Haves) and the poor Young family (The Have Nots). Although they fall on different socioeconomic levels, the three families share three commonalities: dysfunction, scandal and drama! The first 2 episodes of this season have been INTENSE! Thank you Tyler Perry for this amazing show. Watch it on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) Tuesdays @ 9PM ET
