My Son Has Super Powers, Here’s How You Can Get Some Too

June 7, 2017

This young man makes me such a proud mom. He is so smart, talented, creative and ridiculously crafty. I think making crafts is his super power because he’s just so good at it.  He’s great at cutting, glueing, sticking, coloring, chalking, painting and anything else you can do with your hands.

This is a pile of just some of the projects he’s created and they each have a story. When he comes home with all of these projects he spends a few minutes telling me all the details.

By the time he’s done I know what the project is, it’s significance, all the details on how he made it and the tools he needed to create the project, and any stories told around the project.

I’m not the most crafty mom but I encourage Joel and his sister Elle to tap into the artistic area of their brain through coloring.  I shared with you all a few months ago that there are psychological benefits to coloring with your kids and I know this is what has attributed to Joel’s crafty super powers.

Most children enjoy coloring more if you color with them so I always participate and chat with them about the activity at hand and what else is going on in the world.  This is our opportunity to bond, talk and enjoy lot’s of laughs. While coloring on these Tampico Captain Underpants printable sheets, we discussed the new movie which came out on June 2nd.  I asked Joel if Captain Underpants is a good super hero and he screamed “NO! He’s goofy!” And we all laughed so hard at his unfiltered natural reaction.

When we’re done our afternoon art session we enjoy a tall glass of Tampico Fruit Punch because they’ve earned it (and they’ve been asking for some all day!)

I encourage you to find the time to color with your little ones. Make it fun, exciting and full of laughs.  Offer Tampico and a snack afterwards and everyone will be happy.  If you’re children still aren’t interested, grab your hypno ring and hypnotize them into having fun!

I have heard a lot about the Captain Underpants movie. I heard that it was second at the box office this past weekend. It must be pretty great! Thank you for letting us know about this sweepstakes, as well.

Both of my kids want to see the movie! Your son is definitely a superhero! Although I laughed at how he called Captain Underpants “goofy.” He is!
I have never heard of Tampico, but it looks awesome and refreshing.

We have a family movie date scheduled to see this movie in the theater. Both of my kids are so excited to see it. WE love having Tampico when we go camping. Just a staple in our camping routine. So refreshing after a nice hike with the kids.

Coloring pages for some time has become a huge trend here that even adults went crazy about it. It’s a fun activity to do with kids, and it’s also a stress-reliever for everyone who wants to break from work for a while.

My little guy is a lot like this. He doesn’t enjoy coloring unless I am doing it alongside him. I am too busy for this, right?!? Yet, when I sit down to do it with him, I actually have fun. It is also a great way to add in some educational moments.

My daughter has always been creative in a lot of ways but only recently she has got interested in drawing art. It is pretty cool to see the things our kids can come up with, isn’t it? I love drawing as well as creating crafts so it is a lot of fun to enjoy these things together.

My kids have been asking to go see this movie. I have not ever read the books either, but it seems like something that the kids I’ll also never tried this punch before, but I might have to pick some up.

I can’t believe Captain Underpants is still around – after all these years. How wonderful. I remember my classmates in elementary school LOVING this series. And by the way, your kiddos are adorable!

OMG this looks like so much fun. My daughters LOVE drawing although their drawings arent good (they are super little) but I can see these awesome crafts being something they would love for sure. It amazes me the things children come up and how creative they are.

I have never heard of Tampico juice. Is this region specific? I know I should drink more water but I always prefer a flavored drink because I tend to find water a little too boring and harder to drink LOL. If I’m able to find it up here in northeast area I’ll have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing the giveaway as well!

This is so cool. I do love that he comes home and he immediately gets to crafting. It reminds me a lot of my daughter. She loves to come home and craft and do a whole bunch of different projects. I am sure that she and I will be watching the Captain Underpants movie at some point. We just don’t know when yet.

What a sweetie! I remember when my kids were little and we’d spend hours working on crafts. I really miss those days. Too funny, because I also remember my son loving the Captain Underpants books when he was little. I’ll have to pick up the movie to watch with my grandson. x

How fun! So glad your little one is super crafty and loves drinking juice. My little girl loves art, but more of the performance art. We are a big yogurt family over drinking juice, but if we do, we prefer the tropical flavor. 🙂

It looks like you have a little artist on your hands. Two of my kids are really into crafts too. My middle son is good at DIY projects while my oldest can look at something and basically draw it out.

I loved that your son colored Captain Underpants brown! I think there is a psychological correlation to coloring to enhance creativity…I think thats why adult coloring books are so popular now.I think your family is adorable keep supporting his creative initiatives he might have a gift 🙂
