Stay Spontaneous

October 17, 2013

Remember when you first got with your significant other and everything was fun and exciting? You probably went on lots of dates to your favorite restaurants, the movies, and nice walks in the park.  Do you two still do these kinds of things now?

For most couples, after the honeymoon phase is over all these things that you did to connect with your partner fades away.  It’s never to late to start it up again, how about this weekend?

Go out and have a good time like you used to — eat, drink and be merry!

For my hubby and we have a date night every month. Our dating anniversary is June 5th and our wedding anniversary is July 10th, so we pick a date around the 5th and the 10th of every month to do something together. We really enjoy eating out so we do this most. But when there is a great new movie out we take a trip to our local theater and hold hands while watching the movie like we did eons ago.  When we are feeling competitive, we visit our local bowling alley or pool hall and have a blast. I usually talk lot’s of junk about how good I am and he usually beats me–Bad!

Whatever it is that you enjoy doing, just set a date and do it!

The purpose of doing this isn’t just to get out of the house, but it’s more about reconnecting with your partner. Leave work, the kids, and any other stressors at home and just spend time enjoying the love you two have for each other.
