When you’re a busy woman like I am and you’ve always got something to do its easy to feel like you never have enough energy. My mornings start early and I’m running here there and everywhere behind my children. I have nothing against coffee, but I prefer to lay off the caffeine because it really browns your teeth and to be honest coffee just doesn’t taste very good to me. So what’s a girl to do to stay upbeat all day? I’ve got a few tricks that have helped me increase my energy, get my skin in tip top condition and boost my mood. None of my tricks are magic, you’re going to have to do the work to reap the energy and emotional rewards.
I Start My Day Inspired
I’d never be able to complete my goals as an entrepreneur without being inspired, it’s as simple as that. You need to feel motivated to achieve your goals before you can make them happen. You can have the best intentions in the world, but you’ll fail if you’re not willing to stay inspired and give yourself a daily boost of motivation. I’m a creative so I often find inspiration in a variety of places. A few key places I find the most inspiration are in podcasts, self help books, blogs, youtube videos, pinterest and directly from my online community.
The thing about inspiration is how uniquely personal it is to whoever receives it. One of my favorite bloggers, Demetria Lucas, has been traveling alone non stop for months – this is something I would be too afraid to do. Now you might say, but Jenell, you travel alone for work alone all the time. Traveling alone for work feels different somehow. I honestly isolate myself to my hotel room because I’m just so darn tired from traveling and working. But I’ve been inspired to travel more now. No I won’t be traveling alone, I have a built in travel partner called hubby. We are going to Aruba in 3 weeks for my birthday (Team Pisces!), then at the end of April we are going to Vegas for his birthday. I’m so inspired to travel now that I’m planning a third vacation that will happen before the summer.

I already see you assuming things. Snacking get’s a bad rap because the word is often associated with junk food but now that I’ve pointed that out I’m sure your mind is thinking about all the healthy snack options that you should have been thinking about to begin with. See I’m one of those girls that is always hungry so I have to snack in order to keep my energy and mood up. There’s nothing worse then forcing yourself to wait until lunch when I’m hungry now. Snacking keeps me very happy. But I’m not just snacking on anything, I like fresh fruit – mangos, kiwis, peaches, plums, apples, bananas, grapes, watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, and I most recently had fresh pomegranate and it was so much fun to eat.I also enjoy snacking on anything with peanut butter. Raw nuts like peanuts or almonds are also an amazing snack and many brands make delicious fruit and nut bars for on the go snacking. Oh and how could I forget my milk shake with chia seeds. It’s not what you think. No ice cream in this milk shake. I mix 8oz almond milk, 1 scoop plant Vega coconut almond based protein powder, 1 tbsp whole chia seeds, 8oz water and ice in a blender cup with one of those metal whisk balls. I shake it up vigorously and then shake it some more and then shake it before each sip. Its like a protein shot and keeps me energized.
